We feature the work of furniture maker David Wilson. Inspired by the design and craftsmanship of 18th-century cabinet makers, Wilson uses traditional techniques long forgotten in a world in which most things are made fast, cheap and disposable. Though he is inspired by the past, these techniques are used to make his own more-modern designs, inspired by furniture makers such as Pierre Jeanneret, Jean Prouve, and Carlo Mollino. Though Wilson does use machines, he does not let them have the last word in the appearance of the piece. All carving, all shaping, and much of the joinery are done by hand.
This unique and inviting space features colourful artwork and custom made home decor. Come to see art in its making and listen to music throughout the day.
