unnamed-7
The rebirth of Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) will be celebrated at the Second Annual Galavant in the Garden on Saturday, October 1, 2016at the magnificent 100-acre 18th century Hortulus Farm, 60 Thompson Mill Road in Wrightstown, PA. There will be a special concert by the renowned Broadway and television star Megan Hilty.  The gala is the premiere fall event of Bucks County complete with aperitifs, a moveable feast, live auction, Hilty’s performance and a lavish dessert buffet.
This is the first BCP Gala presented under the auspices of Playhouse Artists, the new charitable organization whose mission is to support the growth and sustainability of the Playhouse.  Playhouse Artists was certified as a 501(c)3 public charity in June 2016. The gala chairs are Sally Weisman, Bill O’Donnell and Kimberly Gibbons.
Marvin Woodall, Chairman of the Playhouse Artists Board of Directors, looks forward to this enchanting evening and said, “We are thrilled that famed garden and event designer Renny Reynolds and noted garden author Jack Staub of Hortulus Farm are hosting our second annual gala. Their estate has been called ‘a garden of world-class charm.’ The performance by Megan Hilty, one of the freshest stars on Broadway, who played the lead role of Ivy Lynn in NBC’s hit musical drama show ‘Smash,’ will make this a night to long remember.”
Proceeds from the event will support the nonprofit mission of Bucks County Playhouse, which includes the Oscar Hammerstein Festival, a new musical development program, and innovative education programs like the Student Theatre Festival, BCP Youth Company and year-round engagement programs for young people and adults.
Megan Hilty made her Broadway debut playing Glinda in Wicked alongside Idina Menzel.  She went on to lead Broadway productions of 9 to 5, Noises Off, and renowned ENCORES! Productions of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Annie Get your Gun. Television stardom came with her role in Smash.  Ben Brantley of the New York Times has called her performance “one of those single, golden nights, so cherished by theatregoers that thrust its leading lady into the firmament of musical stardom.”
The tickets for the gala range in price from $250 to $1,000 with various sponsorship packages. For more information, contact Trevor Wise, Development Manager at 267.740.2090 x107 or [email protected]

Shad’Toberfest Canceled

As you may have heard, Lambertville was devastated by flooding from Ida.

We decided to cancel Shad’Tober. The decision was not reached lightly. However, we could not burden the already stressed infrastructure of the City. The festival brings thousands of visitors to Lambertville and that burden would not help our City right now. The need in Lambertville is great with over half the homes in the City affected by Hurricane Ida’s unprecedented flooding. There are some people that will spend a year getting their house back to a livable condition and some who will never return to their beloved homes because of the severe damage they sustained. In light of this tragedy, we are working on a fundraiser to benefit those flood victims hit hardest by
Hurricane Ida. Stay tuned for details.
