Celebrate the Season

Thanksgiving Day Two Town-Turkey Trot

Why not work off some pre-dinner calories this year, before you sit down to your Thanksgiving Feast? For $35 per person, you can take part in the Second Annual Two Town Turkey Trot from Lambertville the Lambertville Station in NJ to New Hope! You can run in the 5k race, or walk in the 1-mile health walk. Take in the scenic views across the Lambertville-New Hope Bridge through out New Hope and back to Lambertville’s downtown district. Runners are encouraged to arrive at 7am for this 8am race, and will be electronically chip timed. The first 1000 participants who pre-register will receive a commemorative race shirt and medal and prizes will be awarded to the winners! Register at the link below!

Grand Illumination Celebration at Peddler’s Village
November 17th, 2017 – 6-9PM
Head to the beautiful Peddler’s Village for an exciting countdown to Christmas! Santa and Mrs. Claus switch on the jewel-colored holiday lights that will illuminate the Village the entire holiday season. Toast with apple cider and roasted marshmallows over an open fire as local musicians and school choirs perform. Don’t forget to stop by and see all of the wonderful Gingerbread House submissions!

Exhibit: Under The Tree: A Century Of Holiday Trees And Toys

Saturday, November 18th, the Mercer Museum in Doylestown kicks off its annual holiday exhibit. This event captures the excitement of Christmas from a child’s point of view.  The show features trees decorated to the tastes of earlier years, along with some of the toys and games that once delighted children on Christmas mornings, from the Victorian Era through the 1980s. This event is open from 10am November 18th until 5pm on December 31st.
The Prallsville Mill’s Annual Holiday Party
November 26, 2017 at 3pm

For more than 300 years, the Delaware River Valley and Prallsville Mills has attracted artists, industrial and political visionaries and thought leaders to its peaceful setting. The unique, 10-building historic complex includes an 1877 grist mill, a 1790 linseed oil mill, an 1850 saw mill and a 1900 grain silo.
Head over on November 26, 2017 at 3pm for a fun-filled day of holiday festivities, including:

Revisit the 1900 era on a horse drawn wagon to help shock and pick corn, and return to the barnyard to help shell it, grind it, and bake it into cornbread. Visitors can participate in planting, cultivating and harvesting of crops, to care for our animals, to sweep the barn, to make soap, butter and ice cream, and of course to sit under the maple tree and talk about the future.

2017 Prallsville Mills Fine Crafts & Arts Show

The show will feature fine crafts and artwork from among the Delaware River Valley’s finest artisans and artists, including jewelry, woodworking, works in clay, hand-spun and -dyed wool, traditionally woven oak splint baskets, and more. Fine art includes painting, prints, photography and pastels.
Storefront Decorating Contest
Throughout New Hope & Lambertville
Local merchants in Lambertville and New Hope will be decorating their store to celebrate the holiday season. Stores will be judged and prizes will be awarded to the winners on both sides of the Delaware.

The Annual Christmas Delaware River Crossing Reenactment
Sunday, December 10th 10 am- 4 pm & December 25th 12 pm- 3pm 2017

On Christmas Day every year, re-enactors assemble at Washington Crossing State Park, Pennsylvania, and make their way across the Delaware River to New Jersey. The annual event commemorates the Christmas Day crossing made by Gen. George Washington and his troops in 1776. It was an historic undertaking that resulted in defeat of the Hessian troops in the Battle of Trenton. You can attend this year’s event in Washington Crossing State Park, Pennsylvania. Depending on the weather, the crossing will begin at 1 p.m. The event/village activities will occur from 11am to 3pm, with the crossing time occurring around 1:00 pm, beginning at the Pennsylvania side at Washington Crossing State Park. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children age five to 11, and free for those under five. All proceeds support future park programs.

Season of Lights & Christmas Festival Peddler’s Village

Peddler’s Village welcomes the Season of Lights with the Grand Illumination Celebration on Friday, November 17, 6-9 pm. Shops open until 10 pm! The annual Gingerbread Competition and Display also opens on November 17. Free admission and parking.
In an exciting countdown ceremony at 6:15 pm on the Main Green, Santa and Mrs. Claus will “switch on” one million jewel-colored holiday lights, transforming the entire Village into a dazzling winter wonderland.
After the ceremony, enjoy complimentary warm apple cider and roasted marshmallows over an open fire. Local musicians and school choirs perform holiday favorites throughout the evening. Join Santa for photos in Giggleberry Fair. after the ceremony.
The Gingerbread Competition & Display is a feast for the eyes with more than 50 creative and whimsical entries on exhibit in the Village Gazebo.
Check off your holiday gift list at the Merchants’ Open House Weekend with refreshments in each shop and something for everyone, November 17-19. The Village’s extended holiday shopping hours are November 24 through December 30, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

New Hope/Ivyland Railroad North Pole Express

Join Santa and Mrs. Claus on a journey through historic Bucks County on a train pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive. The whole family can enjoy the ride with a warm cookie and caroling from roaming musicians. Everyone gets a special gift from Santa to take with him or her throughout the entire holiday season. Check the website for times and pricing.

11th Annual Bucks County Holiday TreeFest
Nov. 21st – January 4th, 2018
Stop by the Bucks County Visitor Center will be filled with holiday cheer as 25 uniquely decorated trees light up the gallery. Enjoy musical entertainment and catch up with Santa Claus throughout this 6-week celebration.
Mercer Museum
Dec. 12th – 7PM-9PM
Attend this free event at the Mercer Museum, featuring a musical parade that escorts St. Nick to the museum’s Log House, where he’ll spent the evening visiting with children and gifting ornaments to all. Enjoy hot cider, Christmas carols, and the Under The Tree exhibit, which features a century’s worth of holiday trees and toys. There will be a Menorah lighting on the first night of Hanukkah as well, so stop by!
Ebenzeer Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Christmas Show

Shad’Toberfest Canceled

As you may have heard, Lambertville was devastated by flooding from Ida.
We decided to cancel Shad’Tober. The decision was not reached lightly. However, we could not burden the already stressed infrastructure of the City. The festival brings thousands of visitors to Lambertville and that burden would not help our City right now. The need in Lambertville is great with over half the homes in the City affected by Hurricane Ida’s unprecedented flooding. There are some people that will spend a year getting their house back to a livable condition and some who will never return to their beloved homes because of the severe damage they sustained. In light of this tragedy, we are working on a fundraiser to benefit those flood victims hit hardest by
Hurricane Ida. Stay tuned for details.
