Husband and Wife Team Up for Frenchtown Exhibit

Belfast

The husband and wife team of John Schmidtberger and Corinne Lalin will be showing their artwork at SFA Gallery this month. “Two Views: New Work from Maine and Pennsylvania” runs from September 6th through October 1st, with an opening reception planned for Saturday September 16th from 4-6PM. Light Refreshments will be served. As always, SFA events are free and open to the public.
Corinne Lalin will be displaying work made with a broad range of media, including encaustic (a wax-based studio medium), plein-air oil pastel and oil painting, as well as mixed media. John Schmidtberger will be showing oil paintings from this year’s Bucks County Plein-Air Festival, a series of small studies painted on the Milford/Upper Black Eddy Bridge, and an extended series of landscapes and architectural subjects from Maine.
For the first time in many years, Corinne and John were able to paint plein-air style together during two extended trips to Maine. This show provides a unique opportunity to showcase their different sensibilities when working from the same subject matter.
“Two Views” coincides with SFA Gallery’s sixth year in business and the couple’s twenty-ninth wedding anniversary.

Shad’Toberfest Canceled

As you may have heard, Lambertville was devastated by flooding from Ida.

We decided to cancel Shad’Tober. The decision was not reached lightly. However, we could not burden the already stressed infrastructure of the City. The festival brings thousands of visitors to Lambertville and that burden would not help our City right now. The need in Lambertville is great with over half the homes in the City affected by Hurricane Ida’s unprecedented flooding. There are some people that will spend a year getting their house back to a livable condition and some who will never return to their beloved homes because of the severe damage they sustained. In light of this tragedy, we are working on a fundraiser to benefit those flood victims hit hardest by
Hurricane Ida. Stay tuned for details.
