New Hope Named One of Best Towns in Northeast

The Delaware River Town’s own New Hope, Pennsylvania is one of the twenty finalists in a competition launched by USA Today for the best small town in the Northeast. Other nominees include Cape May (NJ), Bar Harbor (ME), Cold Spring (NY), and Lewes (DE). USA Today’s 10 Best contest explores the top destinations in various travel and leisure related categories.
You can vote for New Hope once per day until polls close on Monday, April 24 at noon.
USA Today describes New Hope as,

“A short drive from Philadelphia sits the town of New Hope, connected by a footbridge to the town of Lambertville on the other side of the Pennsylvania/New Jersey border. This town on the Delaware River is known for its antiques dealers, art galleries and restaurants. The towpath along the Delaware Canal makes for pleasant stroll or bike ride through the Bucks County scenery.”

Shad’Toberfest Canceled

As you may have heard, Lambertville was devastated by flooding from Ida.

We decided to cancel Shad’Toberfest. This decision was not made lightly. However, we could not burden the already stressed infrastructure of the City. The festival brings thousands of visitors to Lambertville and that burden would not help our City right now.

The need in Lambertville is great with over half the homes in the City affected by Hurricane Ida’s unprecedented flooding.

There are some people that will spend a year getting their house back to a livable condition and some who will never return to their beloved homes because of the severe damage they sustained. In light of this tragedy, we are working on a fundraiser to benefit those flood victims hit hardest by Hurricane Ida. Stay tuned for details.
