New Hope Takes Second Place in "Best Northeastern Small Town" Contest by USA Today

The votes are in! In USA Today’s 10 Best competition, New Hope, Pennsylvania took second place for the title of “Best Northeastern Small Town.”
In addition to world-class restaurants, spas, shops, and a bustling arts scene, New Hope is home to popular events like First Friday Fireworks, the Arts & Antiques Treasure Hunt, Halloween Zombie Crawl, and the Delaware River Town Turkey Trot.
A panel of experts partnered with 10Best editors to picked the initial 20 nominees, and the top 10 winners were determined by popular vote.
Here’s what they had to say about the “travel-worthy” Delaware River Town destination:

When you think of a quintessential American small town, the charming hamlets of New England likely come to mind. The Northeastern United States – Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont – are brimming with travel-worthy small towns.

And just behind New Hope in third place is another local destination- Clinton, New Jersey. Congratulations to New Hope!

Shad’Toberfest Canceled

As you may have heard, Lambertville was devastated by flooding from Ida.

We decided to cancel Shad’Toberfest. This decision was not made lightly. However, we could not burden the already stressed infrastructure of the City. The festival brings thousands of visitors to Lambertville and that burden would not help our City right now.

The need in Lambertville is great with over half the homes in the City affected by Hurricane Ida’s unprecedented flooding.

There are some people that will spend a year getting their house back to a livable condition and some who will never return to their beloved homes because of the severe damage they sustained. In light of this tragedy, we are working on a fundraiser to benefit those flood victims hit hardest by Hurricane Ida. Stay tuned for details.
