What Is Shad Fest 2022?

This year’s Shad Fest features the region’s finest artists and crafters featuring everything – jewelry, ceramics, furniture, apparel, accessories, home décor, and more! This is a rain or shine event.

New to the year are children’s activities, home & garden section, and farmer’s market. Local’s Lane will feature artists from the Lambertville/New Hope area.

Health & Safety

The health and safety of our festival attendees is our top priority.  Individuals who have tested positive or have been deemed presumptively positive with Coronavirus; sought coronavirus testing but have not received results; been informed that they may have been exposed to Coronavirus or have experienced any symptoms of coronavirus should not attend ShadFest. Please stay home!

There is no guarantee that you will not be exposed to Coronavirus by attending this festival. By coming to the festival, you acknowledge and agree that you assume the inherent risks associated with attendance. By attending, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by this policy.

Lost Parents: Should children lose track of their parents (we know, you wander off when you see that wonderful artistic item that you must have for your home… it happens!), all children will be escorted to the Shad Fest tee shirt sales table in the Food Court. They will be available for pick up once the lost parents are recovered. See the purple box on the festival map, should you continue to be lost.

Jim Hamilton Shad Festival Scholarship Fund

The Greater Lambertville Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2022 Jim Hamilton Shad Festival Scholarship Fund.

“We had an amazing group of students last year,” said Shad Festival scholarship co-chairs Jane Wesby and Amy Coss. “The selection process was highly competitive. We were deeply inspired by the six students we interviewed. We strongly encourage all eligible students to apply this year. The community works hard to earn this money, and it is a delight to help fund the next generation of artists.”

Scholarship Requirements

The scholarship is open to any graduating high school senior, age 20 or under, pursuing a degree in the fine or performing arts. Applicants must reside in Lambertville, Milford, Stockton or Frenchtown, New Jersey or New Hope, Centre Bridge, Lumberville, Point Pleasant, Upper Black Eddy or Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania. Students can be matriculating at a public or private institution.

Funding The Scholarship

The Jim Hamilton Shad Festival Scholarship is funded through the combined efforts of local businesses who support the auction, our generous community of artists who donate their art for this cause, the patrons who fund the scholarship through their purchase of the art and the hundreds of volunteers who make the whole thing happen. The Scholarship has awarded over half a million dollars to talented students since 1981. Last year, two students were each awarded $10,000.

Applying For Scholarship

Applications are due by April 4, 2022, and students must be available for an interview on the 11th, 12th, and 13th.

More information can be obtained by calling the Greater Lambertville Chamber of Commerce at 609-397-0055.

Tax-Deductable Donations

Individuals or businesses wishing to make a donation to the Jim Hamilton scholarship fund can do so by making a check payable to the Delaware River Towns Charities/Jim Hamilton Shad Festival Scholarship Fund in care of the Greater Lambertville Chamber ofCommerce, PO Box 210 Lambertville, NJ 08530. Donations are tax-deductible as the scholarship fund is an IRS-recognized 501c3.
